    A. EVENT DETAILS:

    1. Date of Event: February 23, 2025 (Sunday)

    2. Start & Finish: TBA.

    3. Releasing of bib numbers and BMI check on the following dates and time at Escalera Food Park:

    • February 21 (Friday) at 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

    • February 22 (Saturday) at 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM

    4. Big Run Proper on February 23 (Sunday)

    • Assembly & Check-in: 4:00 AM

    • Send-off Program: 5:00 AM

    • Flag-off Time: 5:30 AM

    5. ROUTE TYPE: The Big Run will use a loop-type route with a ___ kilometer loop distance. The run shall start and finishes at __________________.


    6. AID STATION: The Water and Medical Assistance shall be positioned approximately 2.5-3.5 km apart.


    B. CHALLENGE & DISTANCE

    1. THE CHALLENGE is to complete a _____kilometer loop based on your Body Mass Index (BMI) range. The aim is to complete it at a slower pace rather than focusing on speed. Remember, the slower, the better!


    2. Categories, BMI Range and Distance to complete:

    • BMI 25 to 29.9 to complete 10.0km (+\-)

    • BMI 25 to 29.9 to complete 5.0km (+\-)

    • BMI 30 to 34.9 to complete 5.0km (+\-)

    • BMI 35 & above to complete 3.0km +\-)


    3. For the safety of everyone, it is important that all participants are physically and medically fit to walk and run. If you are unsure about your fitness level, please seek medical help. If you have any concerns about the distance you should walk or run, or if you are returning to walking or running, please send a message to Coach Archie Nellas of Fit&Play for the Pre-Run Assessments.


    4. AWARDS:

    • No-frills, No-cash awards, just for fun.

    • Certificate of Completion to all who completed.


    C. REGISTRATION & PAYMENTS: This event is a community-based event where all organizers offer their services for free to support the community. Participants are requested to contribute to cover the following expenses.


    1. Registration Fee, add-on and inclusions:

    • Registration: P150 (Puto-sik, Tech)

    • Add-on 1: P20 Certificate of Participation 

    • Add-on 2: P200 for DryFit Shirt

    • Add-on 3: P250 for Personalized Wood Plaque

    • Add-on 4: P120 for Finisher’s Acrylic Medal

    • Add-on 4B: P300 for Acrylic 3D Medal

    NOTE: “PutoSik” means puto and sikwate snacks served after the run and for all the volunteers assisting the fun run. “Tech” covers the finish-judges to determine the top runners.


    2. Payments are non-refundable. If you decide not to run, you may transfer or sell your entry to other participants, which includes the bib number.


    3. Manual Registration Outlet and time starting January 15, 2025 at:

    • Venue: Escalera Food Park 

    • Time: 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM (Mon-Sat)


    4. On-line Registration at PlanOut Page starts on January 15, 2025 using the link:


    5. Cut-off of Registration: February 15, 2025 and there will be NO on-site registration on the Big Run day.


    UNFORSEEN 

    The Organizers through the Race Director reserves the right to change the start time and cut-off time, the route based on the road's conditions, the weather, and other safety factors. The run must go on rain or shine, unless the Race Director decides to call off the run due to unforeseen circumstances, such as bad weather or any situation that would make the road unsafe for the reasons to delay or postpone the event.


    DISCLAIMER

    It is understood and agreed as stated in the Declaration of Fitness, Waiver & Release Form that the host, co-host, and all service providers, the Organizers, all Local Government Units including the barangays the event passes through, the organizations managing the event, and the sponsors shall be free from any liabilities or claims for damages arising because of injuries to anyone during the conduct of the BIG RUN Community Fun Run, and its related activities.

    The event coordinators and volunteers generously dedicated their time and effort to plan "BIG RUN: The Hearty Fun Run." The event aimed to promote running for individuals with larger body types, demonstrating that people of big sizes can enjoy the activity of running.


    Our thanks to the following: 


    NORSPORTS is an accredited NGO sports association promoting fitness and sports.

    FIT&PLAY, a licensed fitness Functional Training (FT) provider, will serve as the Event Manager. 

    Escalera Food Park is a commercial establishment that will provide the venue for the event activities, amenities, and utilities. 

    RECON DRAGON 7, an NGO licensed Radio Communications, will assist with communication needs and road traffic coordination. 

    LYNXX Multimedia Studios, our expert graphic design team, will provide all the necessary designs for the event page, promotional collateral, banners, and streamers. 

    Deep Breath Photography, an adventure photography service, will document the event in motion. 

    ONeSER will provide medical first aid services for sports emergency responders. 

    BFF Cafe & PRMR Supply Enterprises, a commercial establishment, will provide logistics needs. 

    D’Corner Bikeshop, a bike shop business, will provide technical assistance and aid services. 

    PlanOut an outdoor, sports, and fitness event organizer specialist will facilitate the online system needs for registration and payments.

    Dumaguete Metro Post an award-winning local newspaper as the media partner.

    MDRC Events a sporting group established in 2001 will be handling the officiating in getting the Top 3 finishers.
